Overview

Mission Critical Group (MCG) is a provider of power systems and solutions that enhances infrastructure for mission critical environments. The Metal Shop Technician will assist in the fabrication and assembly of custom Switchgear structures to meet client specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the handling of raw steel and copper.
  • Assist in operation of metal shop machinery, including punch, brake, shear and saws.
  • Weld sheet metal goods and prep for coating.
  • Assemble metalwork and handle sheet metal goods.
  • Follow blueprint diagrams.
  • Be proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools.
  • Conduct fabrication, including saw cutting and drilling.
  • May be required to cross train, supporting other sections of the Company.
  • Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years in general mechanical or metal working or associated field.
  • Experience in the use of hand tools and hand power tools.
  • Valid driver’s license (for service-related positions).
  • Satisfactory completion of additional background screening (if applicable).
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Follow verbal directions to meet the production schedule.
  • Ability to use ruler, scale, tape measure, calipers.
  • Possess basic tools including gear wrenches, impact gun, torque wrenches, metrics & standard sockets.
  • High dedication to quality of results to avoid rework.
  • Ability to work under pressure/time constraints.
  • Able to work with minimal direction and achieve objectives.

Additional Information

  • This is a FLSA non-exempt position and is paid on an hourly basis.
  • Workweeks may exceed forty (40) hours including weekends or holidays.
  • This role is based on the production floor.
  • Position requires standing for extended periods and working around machinery.
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to fifty (50) pounds.
