Overview

The Field Service Technician role involves providing customer-focused support for industrial equipment, including installation, troubleshooting, and training. Candidates should have mechanical skills and the ability to work independently in various field conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate, customer-focused support to yield 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Assist sales representatives and customers with technical expertise and mechanical understanding of industrial rotating equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair customer equipment breakdowns or system failures.
  • Install NOV FMS products as needed by the business.
  • Conduct training for customers and personnel in proper assembly and repair procedures.
  • Complete Field Service Reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Travel to customer facilities for service calls and support.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements using Lean tools.
  • Travel primarily Mon-Fri up to 75% of the time.
  • International travel may be required 1-2 times yearly.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of mechanical installation/service work experience.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • NCCCO Rigger I certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of industrial equipment and mechanical plans.
  • Experience with installation, alignment, and commissioning of pumps and mixers.
  • Ability to troubleshoot improperly operating equipment.
  • Willingness to learn new mechanical skills.
  • Knowledge of VFD and/or PLCs in an industrial setting preferred.
  • Ability to perform basic tasks on a computer and mobile device.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
