Overview

At Relativity Space, we’re building rockets to serve today’s needs and tomorrow’s breakthroughs. The Friction Stir Welding Technician II will be responsible for FSW operations, contributing to the manufacturing of the Terran R vehicle, while working in a collaborative environment focused on innovation and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Run FSW equipment and prep welds for welding.
  • Complete standard lift operations or assist in critical lift operations.
  • Perform precision blending and deburring using standard power tools or hand tools.
  • Conduct in-process inspections using hand tools such as micrometers, calipers, and pi tape.
  • Uphold safety and cleanliness standards in the shop.
  • Foster an inclusive environment for all team members.

Requirements

  • 2+ years’ experience with friction stir welding.
  • 1+ years’ experience with crane and rigging operations.
  • Proficient in the use of common hand tools and inspection tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or team communication tools like Slack.

Additional Information

  • This is a 1st shift position with a standard schedule of 5:00am-3:30pm PT, Monday through Friday.
  • The position has a baseline expectation of a 50-hour workweek, which may include occasional overtime.
