Overview

Chugach Government Solutions (CGS) is a government contractor with over 25 years of experience, focusing on facility maintenance, IT services, construction, and education. The Engineering Technician IV position involves providing maintenance support for electronic systems at the U.S. Coast Guard Sector in Staten Island, New York.

Responsibilities

  • Provide preventive maintenance services for various electronic systems using provided Maintenance Procedure.
  • Update Maintenance procedures as needed.
  • Provide Casualty maintenance for supported electronic systems within a prescribed timeline.
  • Provide general IT functions in support of Preventive and Corrective Maintenance completion.
  • Provide general facilities maintenance as required.
  • Assist in the procurement of required parts and services for maintenance functions.
  • Assist multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Travel to remote sites to conduct Preventive and Corrective Maintenance.
  • Attend meetings, provide briefings, and participate in meetings as required by the customer.
  • Review system/component schematics.
  • Work within tight deadlines.
  • Adhere to safety and customer worksite policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or Electronics Engineering or completion of USCG or DOD Technical Schools preferred.
  • Four (4) plus years of experience working with C4IT/C4ISR Systems.
  • Four (4) years of commercial experience in electronic systems installation, troubleshooting and/or repair.
  • Must be able to climb towers and be able to obtain tower climbing certification.
  • Must be able to drive.
  • Ability to pass and maintain background clearance.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Understanding and troubleshooting of RF Communications systems preferred.
  • Understanding and troubleshooting of network systems, Automatic Identification Systems, and Surveillance/CCTV camera systems preferred.
  • Ability to obtain IAT Level I or II SEC+ and CE certifications preferred.
  • Experience with CCTV systems preferred.
  • Experience with Furuno and TERMA Scantar 2001 Radar systems preferred.

Additional Information

  • Position based in Staten Island, New York.
  • Occasional travel will be necessary.
  • Provide after hour support as necessary.
