GE Vernova is committed to addressing the climate crisis by electrifying the world and helping to decarbonize it. The Machinist role at the Atlanta Service Center involves setting up and operating manual and CNC machine tools for steam turbine repair.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize safety by adhering to safety standards and processes.
  • Set up and operate various machines for machining operations using manual and CNC equipment.
  • Select and grind tools based on material properties and machine capability.
  • Use measuring devices and associated shop equipment.
  • Utilize hand tools for assembly and disassembly of components.
  • Embrace a culture of respect and inclusivity while training others.
  • Continuously improve mechanical assembly practices to enhance efficiency.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in a Machining discipline or High School Diploma/GED with a Machining certification or Journeyman's card.
  • Minimum of 1 year general machine shop experience in setup and operation of manual and CNC machines.
  • Experience with mills, drills, grinders, broaches, turret lathes, horizontal bore, EDM, and engine lathes.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate fixtures and component hardware up to 25 lbs.

Additional Information

  • Full-time onsite position at Chamblee, GA facility.
  • 1st shift schedule of Monday-Friday 6:00AM – 2:30PM ET during training.
  • 2nd shift schedule of Monday-Friday 4:10PM – 1:00AM ET after training.
  • Overtime available but not mandatory.
