Job Description

Overview

The Helper position requires physical stamina and dexterity to assist in various tasks related to pipe preparation, installation, and testing. Candidates must be capable of working in outdoor conditions and adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Identify all tools required for tasks.
  • Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
  • Assist with preparation, fabrication, installation, and fitting of pipe to specifications.
  • Assist with the installation of valves, hangers, supports, flanges inside piping systems according to plans and applicable specifications.
  • Assist with testing to ensure the quality of the pipe and the piping systems.
  • Assist with hoisting loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and other rigging equipment.

Additional Information

  • Candidates may be required to assist welders with grinding.
  • Must be capable of working outside in the elements including heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind.
  • Must be able to work for long periods of time up to 12 hours a day.
  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
