Overview

The Laborer / Grinder position at Progress Rail involves removing bearings from second hand sets, documenting wheel set sizes, and preparing wheel sets for qualifying operators. Responsibilities

  • Remove bearings from second hand sets.
  • Document wheel set size and type on QA form.
  • Perform minor cleaning of wheel sets in preparation for wheel qualifying operator.
  • Palletize and disposition using a forklift.
  • Move material within the shop using a forklift.
  • Perform other functions as necessary to meet efficiency goals for the shift.

Requirements

  • Fast-paced individual willing to train in several areas of the shop as needed.
  • Forklift certified is a plus, but will train on site.
  • Willing to cross-train at other stations.
