Overview

SMS INDUSTRIES is a well-respected sheet metal fabrication company in Henderson, Nevada, looking for an experienced welder with a positive attitude and strong work ethic to join their team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on sheet metal parts.
  • Interpret basic shop drawing requirements related to welding.
  • Work primarily with CRS, zinc coated steel, and aluminum.

Requirements

  • Must have experience in MIG and TIG welding.
  • Laser welding experience is a plus.
  • Available for overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Able to work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Must communicate and work well with others on the shop floor.
  • Must be able to speak English; bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
  • Occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
