Overview

The Service Technician will support new custom machine builds, installations, troubleshooting, overhauls, audits, and repair of high-speed automation equipment in-house or at customer sites. Ardagh Metal Packaging is a leading global supplier of sustainable, infinitely recyclable metal beverage cans, employing over 6,300 people across multiple regions.

Responsibilities

  • Support eight Ardagh Metal Beverage Sites from the Ardagh Technical Center.
  • Follow engineering drawings and specifications to build and overhaul high-speed automation equipment and sub-assemblies.
  • Disassemble existing systems, evaluate for wear and damage, and reassemble using new or reconditioned parts.
  • Assemble small machine subassemblies to support the spare part program.
  • Utilize hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drawings to build and perform required service.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures and quality standards.
  • Use precision measuring and gauging tools for inspection before, during, and after machine builds/re-builds.
  • Recommend process improvements for equipment design and assembly processes.
  • Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and hand power tools during machine builds or overhauls.
  • Work in a team environment during day and night shifts based on production schedule requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years of mechanical assembly or machinist experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.
  • Must pass a Mechanical Aptitude test.
  • Overtime and travel as necessary including weekends and various shift hours.
  • Welding skills a plus but not required.
  • Ability to operate a lathe or milling machine a plus but not required.
  • Ability to lift 75lbs.
  • Agility to stand, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and pull.

  • The starting hourly base rate for this role goes up to $46.71 dependent on years of service within the company.
  • The company offers a Success Share Bonus dependent upon meeting metrics and targets.
