Overview

Apprentice Engineers are engineers in training who assist the engineers on duty. This position is covered by the collective bargaining agreement with Local 68 (I.U.O.E).

Responsibilities

  • Re-lamp all interior and exterior light fixtures for NJPAC, Site Office, Military Parking Garage and Lucent Center.
  • Assist the engineer on duty.
  • Keep mechanical spaces clean and organized.
  • Maintain boiler and cooling tower chemical treatment systems.
  • Report any problems to the engineer on duty.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Entry Level position.
  • Must attend Local 68 four-year training program as condition of employment.
  • Able to lift and carry heavy objects from 50 to 100 pounds.
  • Must have knowledge of the safest methods to be used in performing heavy manual labor.
  • Required to be or become a member of Local 68 of the International Union of Operating Engineers.
