Overview

The Metal Field Services Technician provides installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair support for advanced metal additive manufacturing equipment at customer facilities, focusing on laser powder bed fusion technology. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work and solving complex equipment challenges while collaborating with customers.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair metal additive manufacturing equipment.
  • Travel to customer sites to support installations, preventative maintenance, and service requests.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, software, and system-related issues.
  • Support large customer deployments and complex installation projects.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal technical teams to resolve issues and ensure equipment performance.
  • Complete service documentation, reporting, and inventory tracking.
  • Manage company tools, spare parts, and assigned assets.
  • Deliver a professional and positive customer experience.

Requirements

  • Experience with metal additive manufacturing required.
  • Experience with laser powder bed fusion technology strongly preferred.
  • Field service, industrial equipment maintenance, or OEM experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of industrial lasers, motion systems, and electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to read technical documentation, schematics, and engineering instructions.
  • Experience with SOLIDWORKS and additive manufacturing workflows is a plus.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a travel-intensive schedule.
  • Valid driver's license and passport.

  • Preferred locations include Utah and Texas, with California also being considered for highly qualified candidates.
