Overview

At DXP, we are dedicated to providing the best solutions for our industrial customers through our expertise in products and technical services. The Pump Service Technician will inspect, diagnose, and perform repairs on various equipment, ensuring high-quality service and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, fabricate, install, and remove a variety of pumps and rotating equipment in both shop and field environments.
  • Disassemble, inspect, repair, and rebuild industrial pumps including centrifugal, gear, diaphragm, and reciprocating pumps.
  • Service related components such as mechanical seals, bearings, shafts, and gear reducers.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and diagnose mechanical issues through inspection, testing, and evaluation.
  • Install pumps and related equipment while ensuring proper alignment, balance, and tolerances using tools such as laser alignment systems.
  • Assist with fabrication and modification of pump systems and skids, including basic mechanical assembly and welding when required.
  • Read and interpret installation, operation, and maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, repairs, and maintenance performed.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment while working.

Requirements

  • Experience working with rotating equipment necessary.
  • Experience in industrial pump repair, rotating equipment maintenance, or a related mechanical field.
  • Experience with municipal and industrial pump systems, including sewage and lift station pumps.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
  • Proficiency using industrial tools, precision measuring instruments, and rigging equipment.
  • Basic fabrication and welding experience preferred.
  • Must supply own tools.
  • Background check, physical, and drug test required.
  • Acceptable driving record required according to company guidelines.
  • High School diploma or GED.

  • Physical Demand: Lift 50 lbs. unassisted and 100 lbs assisted.
  • Working Conditions: Oilfield and Shop environment.
  • Shift Time/Overtime: M-F, On-Call Rotation, OT and weekend work may be required.
  • Location: USA:TX:Grand Prairie.
