Overview

The Engineering Aide position involves fabrication tasks such as placing and soldering components on circuit cards and sub-assemblies, as well as building wiring harnesses and cabinet assemblies. The role requires collaboration with Engineers and other team members in a fabrication environment, with a commitment of at least 40 hours per week and occasional overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Place and solder components on circuit cards and sub-assemblies.
  • Fabricate wiring harnesses, including connector pinning and de-pinning.
  • Apply mounting hardware for lower-level assemblies.
  • Build single or multi-bay cabinet assemblies for delivery to Engineering or Manufacturing Production.
  • Collaborate with Engineers and other members of the Fabrication team.

Requirements

  • Active secret clearance required at time of submittal.
  • 3 years of experience in fabrication environments such as cable and wire harness or SMT board fabrication.
  • Prior Certification in solder and harness capability to MIL STD requirements.
  • Experience fabricating electrical equipment from blueprints, schematics, and engineering guides.
  • Experience communicating issues with management and engineers.
  • Experience utilizing software tools and Microsoft products.
  • Self-starter able to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
