Overview

U.S. Facilities, Inc. is seeking a Kitchen Maintenance Mechanic for their Philadelphia, PA location. This position involves the operation, replacement, repair, and maintenance of HVAC related mechanical and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, replace, repair, and maintain HVAC related mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Rebuild pumps, install mechanical seals, and align pumps.
  • Clean coils in air handling units and convectors to maintain optimum heat exchange.
  • Perform gas and arc welding as necessary for repairs and fabrication.
  • Assemble, install, repair, and maintain chilled and hot water systems.
  • Conduct routine and preventive maintenance including filter changes and lubrication.
  • Replace bearings, motors, and dampers as needed.
  • Inspect mechanical/electrical systems and record inspections.
  • Write reports to supervisors regarding inspections.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools for maintenance tasks.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and/or electronic systems.
  • Journeyman certificate in a mechanical trade and 5 years of experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with building automation systems is desirable.
  • Ability to write, comprehend, and execute written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
  • Requires work in confined spaces and on ladders or lift equipment over six feet.
  • Must be able to lift over 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use a wide variety of hand and power tools.
  • Demonstrated history of being a dependable and cohesive team member.
  • Willingness to maintain and advance skill level through personal effort and training.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety with a high level of accuracy.
  • Required to be on call as needed.
  • Ability to act competently in emergencies.
  • Strong knowledge in general maintenance field including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
  • Valid Driver’s License in good standing is required.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and assist co-workers.

  • Shifts available: 8am-4pm and 4pm-12am.
