Overview

The Maintenance Technician at Hanwha Philly Shipyard is responsible for performing various maintenance tasks including repairs to building systems, equipment, and machinery. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and the ability to respond to emergencies while ensuring preventative maintenance measures are implemented.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all safety procedures, rules, and regulations are followed.
  • Perform minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and painting repairs.
  • Implement preventative maintenance measures.
  • Respond quickly in emergencies and notify appropriate personnel.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus and replace damaged wires and cables.
  • Replace faulty electrical components of machines.
  • Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electronic components.
  • Replace bearings and seals on rotating machinery.
  • Repair and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on shipyard equipment.
  • Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on dock, overhead, semi-gantry, and smaller cranes.
  • Read and understand blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Use electrical and mechanical test equipment.
  • Use various tools and demonstrate basic skills in rigging, welding, pipefitting, machining, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Knowledge of outdoor cranes and overhead bridge cranes preferred.
  • Knowledge of DC and AC on manufacturing machinery.
  • Experience in hydraulic systems and repair.
  • Experience in CNC and robotic machinery troubleshooting and repair.
  • Mechanical skills are a plus.
  • Skills at reading European electrical diagrams.
  • Arc flash trained.

  • Employment is contingent upon passing a medical examination.
