Overview

This is a remote/rotational position for a Pipe Welder in Prudhoe Bay, AK, offering a competitive benefits package and requiring expertise in welding processes for various industrial applications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding of pipe, flanges, and various fittings for fabrication or repair.
  • Construct, maintain, and modify piping systems and process equipment.
  • Measure pipe routing and draft pipe configuration.
  • Perform repair, prep, grinding, and re-weld procedures on pipe.
  • Complete records and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Safely climb ladders of various heights.
  • Operate Worley light and/or medium duty vehicles.

Requirements

  • Three to five (3-5) years’ experience pipe welding in an industrial environment.
  • Required to pass FCAW, GTAW and SMAW pipe weld tests upon offer.
  • Valid driver’s license including ability to be insured by Worley's auto insurer.
  • High School diploma or equivalent GED.
  • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) certification preferred.

Additional Information

What you'll be running

This posting calls for TIG, Stick, and Flux-Core work. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. Stick (SMAW) burns a flux-coated consumable rod and needs no shielding gas, so it works in wind, rain, and on dirty or rusted steel. That tolerance for bad conditions keeps it the default for field, structural, and repair work.
