Overview
The Structural Welder/Fitter position at Worley Fabrication Facility in Anchorage involves welding metal components for fabrication or repair according to blueprints and work orders. The role requires a strong understanding of welding processes and safety protocols, with a focus on creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding of metal components for fabrication or repair.
- Follow layout, blueprints, or work orders using various welding equipment.
- Prep steel shapes as needed.
- Read and understand engineering prints.
- Work with minimal supervision and perform tasks with limited guidance.
Requirements
- Two years' experience in structural welding or equivalent education and experience.
- Must pass structural weld test upon offer.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Basic knowledge of AWS, ANSI, and ASME codes.
- Experience using oxy/acetylene torch.
- Knowledge of carbon steel and other alloy metals.
- Ability to safely climb ladders of various heights.
