Overview

The Supervisory Pipefitter position at the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center involves maintaining the plumbing and steam systems critical to the facility's operations. The role includes supervising various trades and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise plumbing, pipefitting, steam fitting, machining, welding, brazing, and related work.
  • Maintain, repair, and install domestic water, critical water, waste and vent, medical gas, fire pump and sprinkler systems.
  • Oversee components like hot water heaters, backflow preventers, and medical gas equipment.
  • Plan and administer building operations, maintenance, and renovation projects.
  • Ensure compliance with codes, VA Directives, NFPA, Joint Commission, OSHA, and EPA requirements.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for project design utility drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate input from subordinate trades during design reviews.

Requirements

  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Ability to work in uncomfortable and potentially dangerous conditions.
  • Physical fitness for duties involving lifting, climbing, and working in cramped spaces.
