Overview

M&M’s Fab Group LLC is seeking a dependable and hardworking Welding Shop Helper / Fabrication Trainee for an entry-level position in a structural steel fabrication shop. The role involves hands-on learning alongside experienced professionals in various fabrication techniques and machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Assist welders, fabricators, and machine operators with daily shop production.
  • Learn welding, cutting, grinding, fitting, measuring, and basic steel fabrication.
  • Learn to operate CNC laser cutting equipment and other fabrication machinery.
  • Measure and mark steel using tape measures and basic measuring tools.
  • Learn to read shop drawings and fabrication details.
  • Move, load, unload, and organize steel using forklifts and overhead cranes after proper training.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and properly.
  • Assist with material handling and organization throughout the shop.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Help wherever needed to keep production moving efficiently.

Requirements

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
  • Willingness to learn welding, CNC machinery, and structural steel fabrication.
  • Ability to read a tape measure or willingness to learn.
  • Comfortable working around heavy steel, machinery, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
  • Previous welding, fabrication, CNC, forklift, crane, or construction experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Must be willing and available to work the required schedule.

Additional Information

  • Pay ranges from $16.00 to $19.00 per hour, depending on experience.
  • This is a full-time position averaging approximately 62 total hours per week, including Saturday.
  • Candidates must be willing and available to work this schedule based on production needs.
  • Overtime hours are paid in accordance with applicable law.
  • This position offers growth opportunities in learning a trade and developing valuable skills.
