Overview

IMEG is hiring a Mechanical or Plumbing Designer in Broomall, PA, to lead design efforts for low to moderate complexity projects and support the delivery of larger, high-complexity work with senior staff. The role involves providing plumbing engineering solutions and advice, managing project budgets, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in or lead the design and analysis of HVAC, plumbing, and/or fire protection systems.
• Interact with clients to understand project needs and communicate technical information clearly.
• Support or lead project planning and scheduling; document design decisions and monitor project progress.
• Analyze low to moderate complexity engineering problems and develop practical solutions.
• Participate in in-process design reviews and implement quality control processes.
• Stay current on industry trends and contribute to research and innovation efforts.
• Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutions.
• Lead project planning, budgeting, and scheduling for plumbing track.
• Provide in-process design reviews of plumbing and fire protection system designs.
• Proactively identify potential project problems and escalate to the Project Manager.
• Oversee projects through bidding and construction administration phases.

Requirements

• Mechanical track: Associate's degree or certificate in BIM or Engineering preferred.
• Mechanical track: 3 years of experience required (4 preferred) in building design consulting or construction.
• Plumbing track Option A: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
• Plumbing track Option A: EIT Certification and ASPE Certified Plumbing Design preferred.
• Plumbing track Option A: 3 years of experience required (4 preferred) in building design consulting.
• Plumbing track Option B: Associate's degree or certificate in BIM or Engineering preferred.
• Plumbing track Option B: ASPE Certified Plumbing Design preferred.
• Plumbing track Option B: 7 years of experience required (8 preferred) in building design consulting or construction.
• Strong technical and analytical skills in thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.
• Proficiency in industry-standard engineering software and tools.
• Mastery of code calculations for domestic water, waste, and vent systems (plumbing track).
• Advanced knowledge of specialty plumbing systems based on team market focus.
• Basic to proficient use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
• Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to travel up to 5–10% with occasional overnight stays.

• Salary Range in Nevada: $71,000 - $94,000.
