Job Description

Overview

The Welder/Millwright Foreman position focuses on leading crews in the food and beverage sector, ensuring project quality and safety. Candidates should have extensive experience in various welding techniques and the ability to work with process equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead crews and maintain project quality.
  • Perform 3-A sanitary stainless welding and sanitary tube welding.
  • Engage in pipefitting, stainless sheet metal fabrication, polishing, and structural fabrication.
  • Layout and install process equipment using rigging.
  • Modify process equipment as needed.
  • Work with stainless, carbon, copper, and PVC piping.
  • Read and fabricate from blueprints and P&ID's.
  • Draw and interpret isometric drawings.
  • Travel to various job sites in and out of state.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in sanitary welding.
  • 5+ years of experience in pipe fitting.
  • 5+ years of experience in TIG welding.
  • 5+ years of experience in stick welding.
  • 5+ years of experience in rigging.
  • 5+ years of experience in blueprint reading.
  • 5+ years of experience in P&ID reading.
  • 5+ years of experience in food plant/GMP standards (preferred).
  • Ability to lift heavy objects over 50 lbs.
  • Must pass drug screening and physical examination.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for TIG and Stick work. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds. Stick (SMAW) burns a flux-coated consumable rod and needs no shielding gas, so it works in wind, rain, and on dirty or rusted steel. That tolerance for bad conditions keeps it the default for field, structural, and repair work.
