Overview

The Structural Welder position involves welding, fabricating, assembling, and repairing structural steel components according to specifications and safety requirements. Candidates must have welder certifications and be flexible with work shifts, which are either from 5am to 5pm or 5pm to 5am, and the job duration is from October 2026 to December 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Weld structural steel components using MIG, FCAW, SMAW, and/or other approved welding processes.
  • Set up and operate welding machines, cutting equipment, grinders, and other fabrication tools.
  • Fit, align, and position structural steel components prior to welding.
  • Measure and inspect completed work to ensure proper dimensions, alignment, and weld quality.
  • Perform grinding, cutting, beveling, drilling, and other metal fabrication activities.
  • Inspect welds for cracks, porosity, undercut, incomplete fusion, and other defects.
  • Make necessary repairs or adjustments to welds and fabricated components.
  • Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in safe operating condition.
  • Follow company welding procedures, quality standards, and production requirements.
  • Follow all OSHA, company, and job-site safety requirements.
  • Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Work safely around heavy equipment, cranes, steel materials, and other industrial machinery.
  • Maintain accurate production and inspection records as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a structural welder or structural steel fabricator preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
  • Knowledge of structural steel welding and fabrication techniques.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, levels, and calipers.
  • Ability to safely operate welding machines, grinders, plasma cutters, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials as required.
  • Ability to work in various positions and environments, including standing, bending, kneeling, and working at heights when required.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Welding certificate required.
  • 2+ years of structural welding experience preferred, depending on the position level.
