Responsibilities

he MIG Welder is responsible for performing Metal Inert Gas (MIG / GMAW) welding operations to fabricate, repair, and assemble structural steel, sheet metal, and heavy equipment components. You will work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to produce high-quality welds that meet strict quality and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Welding & Fabrication: Perform high-quality MIG (GMAW) welding on various metals, including carbon steel, structural steel, and stainless steel.

• Blueprint Reading: Read, interpret, and work directly from engineering blueprints, schematics, work orders, and welding symbols.

• Part Preparation & Assembly: Position, align, clamp, and tack-weld components into place prior to final welding; prep joint surfaces using grinders, sanders, or wire brushes as needed.

• Equipment Set-Up & Maintenance: Set up, adjust, and operate MIG welding equipment, including voltage, wire feed speed, gas flow, and amperage. Perform routine preventive maintenance on welding tools and machines.

• Quality Control: Inspect finished welds for quality, fit-up, cracks, porosity, and dimensional accuracy to ensure compliance with AWS and company quality standards.

• Safety & Compliance: Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Consistently use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including welding helmets, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and flame-retardant clothing.
