Position Title: Welder Helper Wage: $21.00-$23.00/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 6:00am-2:30pm Monday-Friday We are seeking a reliable Welder Helper / Fabrication Helper for a potential-to-hire opportunity in Houston, TX. This position will support experienced welders and fabricators with material preparation, equipment operation, assembly, and general shop responsibilities. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with welding school experience or previous welding experience who are looking to grow their skills in a fabrication environment. Welder Helper Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Assist welders and fabricators with daily shop operations - Prepare materials for welding, including measuring, cutting, grinding, and fitting components - Operate grinders, saws, drills, and other fabrication equipment - Read and interpret basic blueprints, drawings, and work instructions - Clean and prepare metal surfaces for welding and assembly - Assist with fabrication, repair, and assembly projects - Move materials and finished products throughout the shop safely - Perform quality checks on completed work and report any issues - Maintain a clean and organized work area - Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements Welder Helper Requirements: - High school diploma or GED preferred - Previous welding, fabrication, manufacturing, or mechanical experience preferred - Welding school graduates are encouraged to apply - Basic knowledge of MIG and/or TIG welding preferred - Ability to use hand tools, power tools, grinders, and measuring devices - Ability to read a tape measure accurately - Ability to follow directions and work in a team environment - Strong work ethic and willingness to learn - Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift throughout the shift - Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds IND999 QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
