Overview

The Instrumentation Machinist is responsible for performing bench and precision machining operations for the construction, modification, maintenance, overhaul, and repair of various manufacturing facilities and equipment. The role requires a combination of formal education and practical experience in machining.

Responsibilities

  • Independently plan work assignments and perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Train and direct plant trades Helpers, Junior Trades Workers, and Trades Workers.
  • Collaborate with functional personnel to resolve problems and recommend solutions.
  • Diagnose difficulties using machine and hand tools, troubleshoot, and develop new procedures.
  • Collaborate with functional engineers to improve original designs and resolve fabrication problems.

Requirements

  • Two years of an accredited Trades School with certification or equivalent practical experience.
  • Two years of work experience in their Trade.
  • Skill in operating CNC machinery and precision measurement tools.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical schematics and 3-D drawings.
  • Strong computer skills for looking up machine parts and schematics.

  • Must be able to work any shift or work schedule.
  • Employees are expected to follow health and safety policies and maintain a clean work area.
