Job Description

Overview

H2O Well Service is hiring a Mechanic with welding experience to maintain their fleet of well drilling rigs and support equipment. This hands-on role is based in Hayden, Idaho, with occasional field work, allowing for nightly returns home.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance on the H2O fleet of drill rigs, support trucks, pump hoists, compressors, and trailers.
  • Service and repair heavy-duty diesel engines, hydraulic systems, drivetrains, brakes, electrical systems, and pneumatic components on well drilling equipment.
  • Service and repair gas engines on light-duty trucks and auxiliary equipment.
  • Perform welding and fabrication repairs on rigs, sub-frames, mast components, drill pipe racks, tooling, and shop projects.
  • Diagnose issues using service manuals, diagnostic software, and hands-on troubleshooting; source parts and complete repairs in a timely manner.
  • Respond to field breakdown calls at active drilling and pump service job sites in the Inland Northwest region as needed.
  • Assist with rig-up / rig-down, equipment modifications, and custom fabrication projects as needed.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated welding ability (MIG and stick at minimum) on structural and repair work.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic systems, air systems, and 12V/24V electrical systems.
  • Ability to read schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and service manuals.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record; ability to obtain a Class A CDL within a defined period.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in outdoor field conditions, and occasionally work extended hours during breakdowns.
  • Self-starter who can prioritize a repair queue with minimal supervision.
  • Class A CDL already in hand.

What you'll be running
