Overview

NPK International Inc. is seeking a Mechanic II to maintain trucks, ships, and related equipment under general supervision. The role involves conducting mechanical inspections, performing repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform annual Pennsylvania safety inspections on the fleet.
  • Conduct routine repair and maintenance on small to large mobile machinery, light duty pickups, and DOT regulated tractors and trailers.
  • Utilize effective diagnostic skills in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Safely operate various equipment and vehicles to complete tasks.
  • Diagnose issues and make repair decisions based on operator safety.
  • Enter work orders on a tablet-based platform.
  • Observe, report, and repair overlooked damage.
  • Prioritize workload and adhere to company safety rules and policies.
  • Handle special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or educational equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • General knowledge of mechanical operating procedures and processes.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Mechanic certification preferred.
  • Pennsylvania Safety Inspection certification.
  • CDL-A preferred.
  • Welding/Fabrication experience is a plus.
