Overview

J&J Snack Foods, a leader in the snack food industry for over 50 years, provides branded snack foods to foodservice and retail outlets across the U.S. The Maintenance Mechanic role supports the Maintenance Department by performing routine tasks and assisting in more complex situations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and simple daily preventative maintenance on production and facility equipment.
  • Complete basic diagnosis and repair for simple non-routine equipment modifications and repairs.
  • Work within a CMMS by entering workorders and completing assigned workorders.
  • Identify service needs for production and facility equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to support production.
  • Assist on assigned projects as needed.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as directed.
  • Follow all GMP procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read maintenance manuals and write instructions in English.
  • Basic mathematics skills.
  • Understanding of both English and Metric System.
  • Ability to work in a bake shop environment with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to carry, erect, and climb various OSHA approved ladders from a 6'A-ladder to a 30' extension ladder.
  • Ability to construct, repair and maintain equipment in various production spiralators and storage freezers with temperatures as low as -10 to -35 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to operate various fixed machine shop machines and portable electrical hand tools.
  • Ability to climb over, under, and between various running or idle machinery for repairs.
  • Ability to follow and respond to normal and emergency instructions in English.
