Overview

As a Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for the proactive maintenance, diagnostic testing, and repair of our manufacturing facility’s mobile and heavy equipment fleet. Your primary focus is keeping operations moving safely and efficiently by minimizing downtime on equipment such as forklifts, trucks, and cranes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct scheduled inspections, fluid changes, lubrications, and safety checks on forklifts, cranes, and transport trucks.
  • Use advanced computerized diagnostic tools and multimeters to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble heavy equipment components, including engines and transmissions.
  • Inspect, adjust, and repair wire ropes, sheaves, limit switches, and hydraulic systems specific to cranes.
  • Accurately log maintenance activities, parts usage, and repair times.
  • Maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace and ensure all repairs adhere to safety regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a trade or technical school program in Diesel Mechanics or Heavy Equipment Technology is highly preferred.
  • 3–7 years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing heavy-duty trucks, forklifts, or cranes.
  • Strong background in reading and interpreting electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Proficiency with diesel/gas engines, drivelines, and mobile equipment electrical systems.
  • Ability to identify, correct, and report safety hazards.
  • Ability to lift production objects of up to 50lbs.
