Overview

Knight Transportation is a leading truckload carrier known for its innovation and commitment to its people. They are seeking a Senior Mechanic for the 2nd shift to perform maintenance and repairs on company-owned equipment while fostering a culture of high expectations and exceptional performance.

Responsibilities

  • Complete quality preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on all company-owned equipment.
  • Perform inspections to identify damaged or faulty components to meet specifications.
  • Repair or replace internal and external body components to maximize safety.
  • Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform repairs on all equipment.
  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble heavy truck and trailer components.
  • Perform offsite repairs and tire maintenance as directed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Provide daily oversight to assigned mechanics to ensure productivity and quality.
  • Guide mechanics on diagnostics and repair processes.

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience with on-the-job training or diploma in vehicle maintenance required.
  • Must possess the tools required to accomplish essential job results.
  • High School Diploma or combination of training and/or experience required.
  • Driver's license required.
  • Must possess superior customer service skills.
  • Must be able to read and understand repair manuals and complete repair orders.
  • Must be able to use and learn various diagnostic software for tractor/trailers.
  • Must possess excellent computer skills.
