Overview
Parker Hannifin's Bioscience & Water Filtration Division is seeking a Welder I to perform various production and manufacturing duties, particularly in welding, while contributing to the mission of providing reliable clean water solutions using advanced reverse osmosis technology.
Responsibilities
- Perform material preparation activities including cutting and grinding of material for welding.
- Use tape measures, levels, squares, and hand/power tools to prep material.
- Identify materials tied to control numbers using color coding, markers, and labels.
- Operate material handling equipment safely.
- Weld on demand and provide rotational support.
- Interpret blueprints for production equipment.
- Follow applicable procedures in product production.
- Successfully weld at least two different types of materials.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities with teams.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to accurately perform math problems required.
- Effective communication skills in written and verbal exchanges required.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments required.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and operate common material handling equipment required.
- Completion of trade school or community college coursework in welding is desirable.
- Exposure to or knowledge of Lean concepts is desirable.
- Must meet requirements to work in a government contract environment.
