As a Structural Engineering Professional in the NE Region, you will perform structural analysis and design, collaborating closely with a team to deliver world-class designs for industry-leading clients.
Responsibilities
- Perform all conventional aspects of Structural Engineering analysis and design under general supervision.
- Plan and conduct work requiring judgement in the independent evaluation and selection of engineering techniques.
- Exercise sound engineering judgement and problem-solving skills.
- Possess knowledge of principles and practices of lateral analysis and design, including building code provisions.
- Exhibit a high level of attention to detail and quality control.
- Perform calculation checking of other engineers' work.
- Manage workload and take full ownership of assigned work.
- Clearly define your own scope and develop the ability to forecast effort needed to complete that scope.
- Identify scope changes and escalate them to your Structural Lead.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and/or mentorship to designers/drafters and less experienced engineers.
- Be proactive in advancing workflows, systems, and tools within the structural discipline.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer License (PE or PEng).
- At least 10 years of Structural Engineering experience.
- Experience with US building codes, including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI and AISC.
- Experience with Structural Engineering analysis software, Navisworks and Bluebeam.
- Experience designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
