Overview

V&S Galvanizing is a hot-dip galvanizing service company with nine plants across the United States, dedicated to protecting fabricated steel from corrosion. They are seeking a Traveling Electrician to support their facilities, requiring approximately 60% travel for electrical maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to various V&S facilities to perform electrical maintenance and repair on plant equipment.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including motors, panels, control systems, and hydraulic components.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections on electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Run conduit and wiring where needed.
  • Support local maintenance teams by providing technical expertise on electrical issues.
  • Perform building and facility-related electrical repairs as needed.
  • Maintain accurate daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspection logs.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly work environment while adhering to all safety standards and procedures.
  • Assist with the installation, upgrade, or rebuild of machinery and electrical systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of maintenance/electrical experience required.
  • Previous electrical experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to work autonomously with little to no direction.
  • Ability to assist with heavy/major equipment repairs preferred.
  • Must be able to travel approximately 60% of the time to various V&S plant locations.
