Overview

The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring part compliance through inspections, documentation, and communication with production and engineering teams. This role requires reading complex engineering drawings and performing various inspections while adhering to safety policies.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models applying GD&T principles.
  • Perform source inspections at facilities.
  • Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final product evaluations.
  • Perform detailed visual inspections.
  • Document defects and non-conformances accurately in the ERP/QMS system.
  • Prepare inspection reports and maintain files of inspection documents.
  • Understand basic weld inspection techniques, weld symbols, and common welding defects.
  • Review inspection records received for compliance.
  • Maintain inspection and measuring equipment.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper use of measuring tools and equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and reports.
  • Communicate with production and engineering.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years Assembly/Mechanical/Receiving inspection experience.
  • Must be able to read and write in English.
  • Knowledge in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, material specifications, and requirements.
