Overview

The OSS Senior Welding Engineer will review welding procedures and specifications, manage large-scale projects, and collaborate with various teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. This role requires extensive experience in the oil and gas industry and a deep understanding of welding processes and codes.

Responsibilities

  • Review welding procedures according to specifications and industry standards.
  • Manage large projects with complex technical requirements worldwide.
  • Prepare welding specifications and qualify welding procedures.
  • Interface with QA, product engineering, and manufacturing to solve welding problems.
  • Establish contacts and coordinate with personnel from other agencies and clients.
  • Assist product engineers with the design of weldments and joint design.
  • Help in the disposition of discrepant parts requiring weld repair.
  • Participate in design reviews to optimize designs for welding.
  • Understand the project welding engineering document life cycle.
  • Work proficiently in MS Excel, Word, and Access.

Requirements

  • BE/BS in Welding Engineering, Metallurgy, Mechanical, or Production.
  • At least 15 years of industrial experience in oil & gas or related manufacturing.
  • Extensive experience working on shop floor or field environment.
  • Experience with large oil companies.
  • Thorough knowledge of NDE processes (LP, VT, MT, UT, RT, PAUT).
  • In-depth knowledge of ASME Section IX, API 6A, and NACE MR0175/ISO 15156.
  • Working knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASME B31.8, API 16A, API 16C, and API 16F.
  • Expertise in welding procedures, procedure qualification, and welder qualification.
  • In-depth knowledge in SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, and SAW.
  • Welding Inspector certification CWSIP/AWS CWI is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

What you'll be running
