Overview

The Maintenance Millwright plays a crucial role in the Maintenance team, responsible for the repair, installation, and maintenance of machinery and equipment. This position requires a strong focus on safety and mechanical knowledge, with opportunities for growth in a stable industry.

Responsibilities

  • Replace defective parts of machines or adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts.
  • Align machines and equipment using various tools.
  • Connect power units to machines or steam piping and test for mechanical operation.
  • Repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
  • Assemble and install equipment using hand and power tools.
  • Position steel beams to support machines using blueprints.
  • Signal crane operators for assembly unit alignment.
  • Insert shims and adjust tension on nuts and bolts.
  • Move machinery using hoists and dollies.
  • Attach moving parts to assembly units using tools.
  • Assemble machines and fasten them to foundations.
  • Lay out and drill mounting holes.
  • Bolt parts to assembly units.
  • Level bedplates and establish centerlines.
  • Dismantle machines using hand tools.
  • Shrink-fit components using gas heating equipment.
  • Dismantle machinery for shipment and installation.
  • Construct foundations for machines using various materials.
  • Operate engine lathe to grind and turn machine parts.
  • Perform rigging and safety-related functions.
  • Demonstrate safe use of shop tools.
  • Demonstrate mechanical knowledge.
  • Safely utilize forklifts and high lifts.
  • Perform installation and maintenance work as part of a team.
  • Perform welding and fabrication functions as assigned.
  • Experience with fluid systems for maintenance.

Requirements

  • 1 to 2 years of Millwright experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background, drug, and work screen.
  • Availability for 12-hour shifts, weekends, call-outs, and overtime.
