Overview

RECONN is seeking Utility Inspection Technicians who are problem solvers and take pride in public safety. This role involves the installation of Natural Gas Detectors and inspecting gas services for leaks and corrosion, offering competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Install Natural Gas Detectors and inspect gas services for leaks and corrosion.
  • Complete visual inspections and ensure all required paperwork/documentation is completed.
  • Identify abnormal operating conditions and notify appropriate personnel.
  • Accurately fill out all forms associated with the inspection visit.

Requirements

  • Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
  • Ability to travel locally during the business day; some out-of-area or overnight travel may be expected.
  • Able to pass a drug screen.
  • Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record required.
  • Able to stand and walk for long periods on varying types of terrain; bend and stoop; lift heavy items up to 75 lbs.
  • Proficiency with technology.
  • Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
  • Ability to use simple hand tools.
  • Ability to read utility maps.
  • Must be able to work in all boroughs of NYC without advanced notice.
