Overview

Yeshiva University is seeking a licensed Multi-Trade Mechanic to perform general construction and maintenance projects across multiple locations in the NYC metro area. The position requires flexibility in work shifts and offers a dynamic work environment focused on academic excellence and community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain wooden structures such as partitions, furniture, and equipment.
• Install wallboards, floor and ceiling tiles, linoleum, tiles, and carpets using various tools.
• Install doors and hardware.
• Repair window frames and sashes, and cut and replace window glass.
• Install and repair window shades, blinds, and rods.
• Fabricate and install shelves and countertops.
• Install cabinets and suspended ceilings.
• Perform minor electrical work including replacing switches, outlets, and light fixtures.
• Replace sinks and faucets and perform other plumbing repairs as needed.
• Prepare areas for painting and paint buildings and structures using brushes, rollers, or spray guns.
• Mix and pour concrete, lay bricks, cement blocks, and ceramic tiles.
• Apply grout, point brickwork, and caulk to seal cracks in walls and joints.
• Erect scaffolds and set up ladders.
• Keep work areas neat and clean.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma and 5 years of experience in one or more building trades.
• Must possess at least one trade license (electrical, plumbing, or equivalent).
• Valid state driver's license is preferred.
• Must possess strength and dexterity needed to perform the job.
• Must have a working knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Must adhere to operational safety rules and regulations.
• Must be able to follow directives and possess good communication skills.
• May be required to work from blueprints.
• Must be able to work in multiple locations within the NYC metro area.

Additional Information

• Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 6 am - 2:30 pm.
• Respirator Fit Testing may be required.
