Overview

Parsons is seeking a Senior Inspector to join their rapidly expanding team, where you can leverage your inspection skills on complex projects that impact the community. This role requires attention to detail and expertise in financial reconciliations, while performing complex inspection tasks to ensure compliance with quality control procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct tests to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract specifications.
  • Perform civil and structural tests such as soil compaction and concrete slump.
  • Conduct destructive and nondestructive tests on metals and other materials.
  • Perform surveillance of underground piping to ensure tightness and grade.
  • Inspect and monitor piling installation for location and bearing.
  • Validate piping systems including P&ID checks and pressure tests.
  • Check location of reinforcing steel before concrete placement.
  • Inspect electrical installations for proper grounding and circuit integrity.
  • Perform continuing inspection of painting and insulation for thickness and coverage.
  • Provide general inspection on all construction labor and subcontracted tasks.
  • Verify equipment alignment and balancing operations.
  • Administer welder qualification tests.
  • Recommend job safety practices and draft safety reports.
  • Prepare quality control reports and recommend changes to procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a technical discipline or construction related field and 10+ years of related experience on heavy construction projects, or a high school diploma and equivalent work experience.
  • Formal certification from an independent organization, depending on type of inspection assignment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications.
  • Familiarity with construction related processes related to area of assignment.
  • Potential to perform in a lead capacity.
