Overview

Planned Companies is hiring a Handyman to ensure that clients' properties are maintained and kept clean, secure, and welcoming. The role involves routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of various equipment to support cleaning, security, and concierge teams.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure preventative maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment.
  • Check boiler and hot water heaters for leaks and report to management.
  • Schedule extermination procedures as necessary.
  • Maintain social areas or amenities as needed.
  • Assure walkways are clear and/or salted during inclement weather.
  • Inventory mechanical/maintenance supplies.
  • Troubleshoot tripped breakers, leaking pipes, and water intrusion.
  • Execute general repairs of the building including doors, filter changing, and light carpentry.
  • Maintain a log of all operating equipment inspections.
  • Inspect rooftop exhaust fans and cooling tower.
  • Ensure trash removal and maintain organized trash areas.
  • Replace light fixtures, branch switches, receptacles, and sockets when necessary.
  • Adjust locks and latches on doors, windows, and lockers.
  • Remove and replace all blown light bulbs.
  • Paint and plaster as required.
  • Maintain daily records of work performed.
  • Report necessary work to be done by outside mechanics.
  • Assist building management with all projects and other job duties as requested.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Strong plumbing, electric, and carpentry experience required.
  • Solid interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills.
  • Bilingual is preferred.
  • Good listener and able to accurately transmit information.
  • Reliable, highly organized, with attention to detail.
  • Courteous, friendly, hardworking, and professional.
  • Eager to learn and take on additional responsibilities.
  • Extremely dependable and reliable, flexible to work during emergency situations.
