Overview

The Master of Mending is a key figure of the 'Atelier Project', an immersive space designed for storytelling and product care located in the heart of the Loro Piana Madison Avenue boutique. This role focuses on mending knitwear garments and may include minor tailoring repairs, while also offering training for personalizing shirts and scarves.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mending on knitwear garments.
  • Conduct minor tailoring repairs such as sewing on labels or buttons.
  • Use a machine for personalizing shirts and scarves with initials.

Requirements

  • Experience in knitwear repair activities.
  • Strong experience in knit stitch and hole reconstruction.
  • Strong experience in chain stitch.
  • Familiarity with handling delicate yarns, especially wool, cashmere, cotton, and gift of kings.
  • Ability to iron and recondition garments with attention to various types of yarn.
