Overview

BAE Systems is seeking an Electronic Assembler I for their Wayne, NJ location. This position is available to military-affiliated job seekers and involves assembling electronic components and systems in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Assembles electronic components, assemblies, subassemblies, and modules using samples, visual aids, prints, and process sheets.
• Verifies results to ensure conformance with requirements and performs rework as needed.
• Performs mechanical assembly operations using standard measuring tools and techniques.
• Conducts electronic assembly operations such as wire termination and installation of electronic components.
• Fabrics wires on a Jig Board according to specifications.
• Prepares wires by routing, dressing, and terminating conductors to specific dimensions.
• Pre-stages circuit card kits and forms components using machine and hand devices.
• Performs masking operations prior to wave soldering or coating of circuit card assemblies.
• Cleans boards per Manufacturing Control Specifications.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

• High School/GED required.
• 6+ months of electronic assembly experience.
• Ability to interpret and understand instructions on process sheets, prints, or route cards.
• Ability to use hand tools such as cutters, pliers, and screwdrivers.
• Ability to identify electronic components and properly orient them into a circuit board.
• Ability to use measurement tools such as scales, micrometers, and calipers.
• May be required to achieve specified solder certification in various assembly/soldering techniques.
