Job Description

Overview

As a Filament Winder Helper, you will assist with the filament winding of various composite parts, working closely with experienced technicians. The role involves performing quality checks, maintaining a clean work environment, and adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload filament winder machine.
  • Retrieve appropriate tooling for the job.
  • Select and verify filament winder program based on the job.
  • Set up machines.
  • Clean machines.
  • String machines.
  • Complete paperwork as necessary.
  • Remove and replace temporary flooring at workstation.
  • Sweep and mop floors as required.
  • Labor in/out using data collect.
  • Maintain 5S standards.
  • Move completed parts to staging area.
  • Perform necessary preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Work closely with other departments to determine priorities.
  • Use of overhead crane.
  • Follow all work procedures for the area.
  • Comply with all safety and company policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • No experience required.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read and speak English.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Basic knowledge of measuring devices, including calipers, OD micrometers, tape measure, and ruler.
  • Detail-oriented.

Additional Information

  • Must be able to lift 45lbs.
  • Must be able to wear all required PPE.
  • Must be able to stand for 10-12 hrs per shift.
  • Must be able to work in both hot and cold conditions.
  • Must be able to work around different types of resins and composite materials.
  • Must be able to work around chemicals and solvents such as acetone, releasing agents and various cleaning supplies.
