Overview

The Manual Machinist position involves supporting the precision repair and refurbishment of industrial gas turbine components by operating manual machine equipment safely and accurately. This role is crucial for ensuring high-quality, dimensionally accurate parts are manufactured to specification, which directly contributes to operational reliability, performance, and customer satisfaction within the gas turbine repair facility.

Responsibilities

  • Machine complex, high-precision industrial gas turbine components.
  • Operate manual mills and lathes.
  • Assist with reverse engineering of parts using CAD software.
  • Interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring instruments.
  • Perform mechanical assembly and disassembly as required.
  • Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and safe condition.
  • Identify and report defective materials or questionable conditions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience in an industrial machining or turbine repair environment preferred.
  • Conventional and CNC machining experience on mills and lathes required.
  • Wire EDM experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of CAD and ability to assist in reverse engineering parts.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

  • 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM
