Job Description

Overview

PPG Aerospace is immediately hiring a Quality Technician in Grand Prairie, Texas, to support the manufacture of advanced aircraft transparencies while ensuring compliance with engineering, quality, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process, final, and receiving inspections of aerospace transparency components and assemblies.
  • Inspect to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Verify compliance with AS9100, customer, and regulatory standards.
  • Perform and document First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102.
  • Conduct dimensional and visual inspections using precision measurement tools.
  • Identify, document, and process nonconforming material in accordance with quality procedures.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Review manufacturing and inspection documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain quality records in electronic quality systems.
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
  • Ensure adherence to ITAR and export control requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience in aerospace quality, inspection, or manufacturing quality assurance.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 quality management system requirements.
  • Experience performing or supporting First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR / AS9102).
  • Proficiency with common inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
  • Basic knowledge of SPC and statistical concepts.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical certification, associate degree, or aerospace quality training preferred.

  • 1st Shift: 5:00AM-1:30PM
  • 2nd Shift: 1:30PM-10:00PM
  • Work performed in a manufacturing and inspection environment.
