Job Description

Overview

Fluidstack is focused on delivering significant compute infrastructure for AI, aiming to enhance human freedom through technology. The Structural Engineer role in the Modular R&D team involves engineering modular data center products and solving complex structural integration challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer the structural systems of modular products from concept through released fabrication drawings.
  • Own structural calculations and load paths to ensure modules survive fabrication, shipping, rigging, and stacking.
  • Solve integration problems where structure meets MEP, including penetrations and attachment points.
  • Provide structural support for factory and field, answering RFIs same-day and engineering fixes into the next revision.
  • Drive prototyping and validation through mockups, fit checks, and first-article reviews.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience engineering structures for complex physical products, modular construction, or heavy fabrication.
  • Experience taking a steel or sheet metal product from concept through fabrication.
  • Support production launches of designs and accountability through first articles.
  • Consider transport loads, lifting points, and stacking as primary design constraints.
  • Produce clean drawings that minimize fabricator inquiries.
  • Collaborate across disciplines and iterate quickly without losing configuration control.
  • Bonus: PE license, depth in steel and sheet metal design, structural detailing standards, 3D CAD mastery, and strong DFM instincts.
