Job Description

Overview

At HDR, employee-owners create a welcoming environment that values inclusion and innovation. As a Structural Engineer in the Transportation Business Group, you will contribute to designing systems that enhance mobility and support thriving communities.

Responsibilities

  • Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques.
  • Work on bridge and transit projects including highway and station designs.
  • Select engineering/design procedures and develop structural details using design software.
  • Perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
  • Review and check design calculations, estimates, and specifications from junior engineers.
  • Interface with clients based on project role.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board.
  • Previous structural engineering experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RISA, Staad, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar software.
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in structural design preferred.
  • Preference given to local candidates.
