Overview

Thornton Tomasetti is an independent organization that applies engineering and scientific principles to solve global challenges. As a Structural Engineer in their Construction Engineering Practice, you will contribute to the design of temporary works and construction systems, working collaboratively to address real-world engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering principles to design temporary structures and construction systems, including shoring, bracing, and lifting plans.
  • Support the analysis and design of structural steel connections, developing an understanding of connection behavior, detailing, and fabrication constraints.
  • Prepare calculations, drawings, and models within a BIM environment.
  • Collaborate with contractors and fabricators to ensure solutions are practical and efficient.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with teammates and project partners.
  • Build your early-career network and practice leadership behaviors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with tools such as ETABS, SAP2000, Tekla, Revit, or AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow through feedback.
