Overview

At Jacobs, the Structural Engineering Professional will be an integral member of the design team, assisting in structural analysis and design for advanced technology industrial projects. Responsibilities

  • Perform all conventional aspects of Structural Engineering and analysis under general supervision.
  • Develop judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques.
  • Exhibit attention to detail and quality control.
  • Check calculations of other engineers' work.
  • Manage workload and take ownership of assigned work.
  • Identify scope changes and escalate them to the Structural Lead or Project Manager.
  • Work in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with US building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC.

  • This position is considered hybrid/remote and may require working in the nearest local office or from home in the USA Southeast Region.
  • Field walks may be required, including climbing ladders and crawling under raised access floors.
