Overview

The Maintenance Technician II position at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, IL, involves performing facility and equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of various mechanical and electrical systems. This full-time role requires flexibility in shift hours and a commitment to maintaining a safe and functional environment for patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
• Document maintenance activities using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, and boilers.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair patient care equipment like beds and wheelchairs.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical/electrical systems including HVAC and plumbing.
• Perform routine to moderately complex general maintenance functions.
• Respond to emergencies such as leaks and equipment failures as directed.
• Respond to building occupant requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and perform equipment safety checks.
• Inspect and repair fire doors and smoke partitions.
• Read blueprints and maintenance manuals to complete assignments.

Requirements

• Driver's license required.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2-4 years of experience in equipment maintenance.
• Basic computer skills including CMMS and Microsoft Office.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information

• Full-time position with a 3rd shift schedule.
• Hours are Wednesday-Saturday, four 10-hour shifts with flexibility on start times between 9pm and 11pm.
